This permanent exhibition explores the development of Washington’s character, the events that shaped it, and his pivotal role founding our country and its political institutions. The 17-gallery project features forensically-accurate figures of Washington, interpretive graphics, unique objects from Mount Vernon’s collection, immersive settings, three multimedia theater experiences, soundscapes and videos, manual and computer interactives, and a Hands-On-History space for public programs.
